: Happy Chinese New Year!

Happy Chinese New Year!

A couple of my Chinese friends reminded me that today is the Chinese New Year and sent me the following link:

This Year of the Pig is the Chinese year to host the Summer Olympics.  You can even learn foreign languages with Fuwa!  Is it just me, or does Fuwa look like Michael Jackson?

Happy Chinese New Year to all who are celebrating!!!

Michael,

I don't know about "Fuwa" looking like Michael Jackson;

but, I think we now know where the "Smurfs" went...

The Smurfs in disguise! This is what they planned on doing for their 50th Anniversary in 2008! [Being part of the 2008 Olympics]...

Regarding the official "Beijing 2008" Website - AWESOME !!!

The logo, design, and the whole top part of the page is so great looking...

Only 183 Days to go, to the Aug. 8th start of these Summer Games. Now, that's some countdown!

The only negative note is the fact that this will be the final Olympics that Baseball and Ladies Softball will be played. Hopefully, both Sports will be reinstated, and played again in some future Olympic Games!!!

Take care!

Hey, thanks for dropping into the "It Takes More Than Balls" MLBlog. As you read I'm from D.C. and am no stranger to election-year madness. I have to say, this is finally a good race. (Like the Superbowl finally was a good game). But calling the wall-to-wall election coverage akin to the Olympics, is generous. We only have to deal with Bob Costas' sappy feature interviews w/ the latest media-made icon for only two weeks, every four years. This is a year's worth of election coverage. Oy vey.

On other news: About an hour ago I found out that our first book tour/Ladies Night date is scheduled to partner with the Nats in the new stadium. Being a Bethesda girl, I couldn't be happier. (and I can stay with my dad, to keep expenses down!)

Keep in touch, Deidre

Jimmy,
You may not have noticed, but Fuwa's hair is on fire 8)

I wouldn't count our beloved sports out just yet. A lot can happen in four years.

Deidre,

You would have to mention Bob Costas 8P

Good luck with your book tour!

Michael,

Oh, Yeah! I get it now!...

But, with that aside, the more I think about it, the Smurfs would be more fun at the Beijing Olympics than the cartoon characters they now have!
